End of November approaching

WOW - I can't believe it is the last week of November, and less than 30 days until Christmas!

Sorry for the lack of posts this month - but just want to pop in and let you know that I do have projects and cards that I will post for you shortly (Christmas projects, Christmas card swaps and some fun altered items). Since this time of year is such a busy time - the posts will probably be randomly here and there over the next 4 weeks, before the holidays - but not everyday. I do hope you will continue to pop in and look for new ideas!

I will start back blogging in full swing in the New Year.
Until next time (and next post), have a great day!

TGIF on a Tuesday

Happy Turtle Tuesday!!!
It's been a while since I have had a turtle card for you - but it's back up and running.
Here is one of the new stamps I got in London a few weekends ago – at the Stamp Shack (they are the retail side of The Artful Stamper).
It was SO cute – I couldn’t resist it! Hope you like my take on it! I'm calling it "Thank Goodness It's FLY-day" or TGIF for a Turtle Tuesday! (DH named the card - that is what he thought of when he saw it!)

Turtle and Friend:
Card dimensions – 4 ¼ h x 5 ½” w
Materials: CS – Chocolate, Breeze, Black (CTMH); Paper –Accademia (Fabriano); Ink – Black StazOn (Tsukineko); Stamps – Pond Friends (The Artful Stamper); Tombow markers, waterbrush, Icicle Stickles, silicone, Cuttlebug and embossing folder (Provo Craft), sandpaper.

This card base was embossed with the swirls folder on my Cuttlebug. I then sanded it to reveal the white inner core of the CTMH cardstock. I then sanded the outer edges of the front to distress it, as well.
For the main coloured image, I stamped it 3 times; 1 for the base, 1 for the frog, turtle and rocks layer and the 1 for just the frog and turtle individually. I coloured them all, and cut out the frog, turtle and rocks piece, and then the frog and turtle individual pieces – which I layered using silicone.
See this photo of a side view (sorry it seems to be so blurry) to see the different layers here.

Until next time, have a great day!

Christmas Trees

Well – I’ve added a new gizmo on the right hand side of the page – a Christmas Countdown Tree! So that everyone who loves Christmas as much as I do, can count down the days until the BIG DAY along with me! So to honour the wonderful Countdown Tree – we have a card with Christmas Trees.
And to anyone who has been shopping in the past few days – have you heard the Christmas carols playing in the stores??!!??!! Oh My!

Christmas Trees:
Card dimensions – 5” square

Materials: CS – Real Red (SU!), Olive (Bazzill); Paper –Accademia (Fabriano); Ink – Versamark (Tsukineko); Stamps – Christmas Trees (Sunshine Designs); Ribbon – Buttercup Organza (CTMH); Tombow markers, waterbrush, gold embossing powder (Stampendous), foam tape, Icicle Stickles.

This card has the folds that meet in the middle. The base cardstock is cut to 10” x 5” and then it is scored twice, 2 ½” in from each of the edges along the long side. Also, the tree on the left was done twice, with the second tree popped up on top of the base tree on foam tape.

Happy Monday – and tomorrow is Turtle Tuesday!
Until next time, have a great day!
