Giga Scallop Circle Punch - Alternatives

Here is the first of this week's series of cards using the Giga Scalloped Circle Punch made by Marvvy.
Due to the demand for these, they are actually back ordered at the Manufacturer, Marvvy - and are not available anywhere right now! They should be arriving shortly, hopefully, for those still waiting for one!
Canadians can order them through the on-line store Scrappin' Great Deals (London, Ontario) for a good price! Sheila, the owner, is getting shipments in regularly and keeps you very well informed of your product status. She notes on the site which are in stock currently, and which are ordered. Check out the FAQ sheet on her site for more info.

So, adding to the list of thing you can do with your punch, from the previous post this morning, here are 2 cards showing yet more uses. For these two cards, I used the same size, dimensions for mats, ink colours and stamp set so that you can see how the two are connected. I used the Looks Like Spring stamp set from Stampin' Up (SU!), because when spring comes you see these wisps of green coming through the white snow, and dull dirty garden - which is what these cards look like to me!

Giga Spirelli-style:
Card dimensions 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

For this card, I used embroidery thread and wound it around the scalloped circle, Spirelli-style, wrapping it around every 8 scallops. Note - for the Spirelli technique, if you skip more scallops between wraps than I did, the black space in the middle will be smaller. If you skip less scallops, the space will be bigger. Just depends on what you want to do with it!
For Spirelli, all you need is a bumpy edge to hook the thread onto - so take a look at your decorative scissors, or other punches (especially flowers) and give it a try!

Now on to the second card in this set!

Giga Negative Frame:
Card dimensions 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".

For this card, I looked at the cardstock that I had punched out the scalloped circle from for the previous card (the piece that is left, or negative of the punch), and thought it could be used as a frame around an image. To do this, I squared it off evenly around the scalloped punch out. SO THERE'S NO WASTE!
To stamp the central green flower, I used the Rock and Roll technique (you stamp your image into the lightest colour, then rock/roll the image in spots onto a darker ink colour). This way I got a bit of black on the outer tips of the petals.
Both Card Materials: CS - black, white, Sweet Leaf (CTMH); Stamp - Looks Like Spring (SU!), Ink - Black, Sweet Leaf (CTMH); Punches - Giga Scalloped Circle (Marvvy), 1/4" hole (Staples), Flower (SU!); ribbon - Offray, embroidery thread (J&P Coats, colours #1001, #8403), dimensionals (SU!), mini glue dots.
Tomorrow is Turtle Tuesday - so make sure you drop in for another Giga Scalloped Circle Alternative use in the Turtle theme.
Coming later in the week are some other cute Giga Alternative projects! Some baby items, and on Wednesday - you will need to get out your scissors to cut up your Scalloped Circle! Lots of fun!
Until next time, have a great day!
